Ensign

The national flag is used as the ensign (https://www.infodefensa.com/latam/images_cache/2018/11/23/stan-patrol-4207--520-520.jpg) and there is a red flag used for naval forces (https://www.laprensa.com.ni/2019/03/26/nacionales/2536675-fuerza-naval-informa-de-la-campana-orion-que-pretende-golpear-el-narcotrafico) but not sure what the full inscription is.

Jack

A Wikipedia article for Jack (flag) shows that Nicaragua uses the signal flag Z as its jack.
John Ayer, 16 January 2020

Going through hundreds of photos I have been unable to spot a single Nicaraguan vessel (at anchor or at sea) flying any sort of flag at its bows.
Christopher Southworth, 17 January 2020

My hypothesis is that someone spotted a photo of a Nicaraguan patrol boat dressing overall, which in that case had the 'Z' flag at the bow, and as such was mistaken as a jack. As we do not have the photo, this is just my hypothesis.
